About Maria
Maria-Joelle Morris 200RYT YA NASM CPT
I have been teaching for the V.A. specifically since the beginning of 2019. I provide 2 classes for Veterans weekly - one is Virtual through VA Connect. The other class takes place in-person on the Fort Knox army installation.
I am also employed by the Department of Defense to teach Yoga as part of MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) to both service members (Unit PTs) and their families.
I am married to an Army Veteran (28 years of service) and we live in Vine Grove, KY. We have three wonderful children.
Fort Knox is home to more than 30 commands and organizations with a daytime population of about 26,000 Soldiers, Retirees, Army Civilians and Familes. My passion is sharing the benefits of yoga, meditation, and yoga nidra with our military community.
My style is personable, positive and encouraging. I have attended advanced yoga teacher studies in Indonesia, and plan to complete my 300HR (to become a 500HR RYT) in the next 2 years - The cost of this training means that I have to space it out over several years. I have so far completed the first module (Advanced Anatomy).
I am trilingual (French, Spanish - having attending DLI (Defense Language Institute) from 2012 to 2013 as a civilian student.
Having grown-up in Ireland, my heart will always be, mostly Irish!
